Nerdy Romantic guest hosts Pam, Marcie, Staci, and Dana join Y. M. in reviewing seasons 1-3 of Netflix’s You. While You is not nerdy or romantic, it piqued a lot of the NR interests. In this episode, the group talks about the crop of crazy of characters, spearheaded by main character Joe Goldberg, compares the show to the books, and gives it a Goodreads rating.
There was a lot of discussion on this one, and while we did go off on tangents, there are a lot of good morsels of information and commentary here. We even got in a bit of a who’s hotter? debate. As in all of our review chats, there are spoilers of the series and the books (You; Hidden Bodies; and You Love Me by Caroline Kepnes), so watch the series first (and read the books) if you don’t want to be spoiled.
We talk about:
- How did we find the show? (Hint: no one saw it when it was on Lifetime)
- Joe Goldberg. He makes us feel things. Very conflicting things
- The chaotic mess that’s Love Quinn
- Season 3 — why go small town?
- Give a Goodreads rating
- and more!
You is based on the domestic thriller series by Caroline Kepnes (available now at most book stores). Season 1 is inspired by You; Season 2 is inspired by Hidden Bodies; season 3 is inspired by You Love Me. All three books you can purchase below.
