A Podcast about nerd pop culture and romance. How’d that happen? While I was working on my debut novel, I wanted to start a podcast because I noticed there were a lot of romance reader podcasts, and a lot of nerd pop culture podcasts, but there weren’t a lot that talked about both (I couldn’t find any at the time.) So I started Nerdy Romantics Podcast.

Within a year and only 12 episodes, the podcast caught on. I realized this could be a thing, so we’ve grown to have guest hosts and frequently we’ll do more than one episode a month. It also spawned me to write the short story “Star Date” and give it away free. Who knew people wanted to read nerdy romance?

Meet Your Host

Y. M. Nelson, M.A. – Author

Nerdy Romantics Podcast host Y. M. Nelson is a romance and romantic women’s fiction writer and reader, Marvel and DC superhero fan, and a long-time Trekkie. Why not combine those loves into a podcast?

She grew up watching the X-Men cartoon, reruns of the live-action Wonder Woman and Incredible Hulk, and has memorized 99% of the Star Trek: TNG episodes. She also read her way through the Babysitters Club and Sweet Valley High series when not devouring nerd TV. And from there, the love affair of geek romance was born.

This checks all my boxes!

Y.M. Nelson’s Nerdy Romantics is my new podcast happy place. It’s right there in the title. I’m a lover of romance novels across various genres, I ❤ interracial romance, so this is a great home if you are a fan. And there’s Star Trek too, clapping 👏

Thank you so much for this podcast. It’s been a while since I last read the book so it’s great being reminded of the characters. I loved hearing all your opinions in your awesome accents!
